Our Doctrine

Any doctrinal statement is man's fallible attempt to summarize the rich truths of God's word. The statements that follow carefully lay out our teaching position with regard to major biblical doctrines. They provide a framework for teaching and preaching at C3.... And provide an anchor to protect us from theological drift.

-Pastor Rick

We believe the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as verbally inspired of God and inerrant in the original writings, and that they are of supreme and final authority.
II Tim. 3:16,17, II Pet. 1:20,21

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons—God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit (the Trinity), co-eternal in being, co-identical in nature, co-equal in power and glory, and possessing the same attributes.
Deut. 6:4, Mt. 28:19, John 1:1,14, Acts 5:3,4, I Peter 1:2

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man, without ceasing to be God, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful man.
Mt. 1:18-25, John 1:1, 14, Is. 7:14, Phil. 2:6-11

We believe in the Holy Spirit, third Person in the Trinity, Who convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment, agent of new birth, baptizes all believers into the body of Christ at conversion, seals, indwells, and fills.
John 14:16,17, I Cor. 6:19, Eph. 4:30, Eph. 5:18

We believe that man was created in the image of God, that he sinned, thereby incurring not only physical, but spiritual death (which is separation from God), and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature which is manifested in thought, word, and deed.
Gen. 3:1-6, Rom. 3:10-19, Rom. 5:12,19

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice, and that all who repent and believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood and are saved by grace through faith apart from human works.
Rom. 3:21-28, Eph. 2:8-10

We believe in the literal resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, His ascension into Heaven and His present life there as High Priest and Advocate for all believers.
Acts 1:9-11, Acts 20:24-29

We believe in that blessed hope, the personal, imminent, return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
John 14:1-3, I Thess. 4:13-18, I Cor. 15:50-54

We believe that the salvation of sinners is entirely a work of God and gift of God, being wholly by grace, accomplished through the sacrificial death of the Son of God and by personal faith in His work on the cross as the only means of salvation. The death of Christ, in which He shed His blood for us, fully satisfied the just demands of a holy, righteous God for the payment of sin. We believe that all the redeemed, once saved, are kept by God’s power and are thus secure in Christ forever.
John 1:12,13, John 5:24, I Peter 1:23, John 10:28,29, Phil. 1:6; I Peter 1:5

We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and unjust, the everlasting conscious punishment of the lost ( those who receive not Christ as Savior) in hell, and the everlasting blessedness of the saved in heaven.
John 5:28,29, Rev. 20:6,11,15, II Thess. 1:6-9

We believe that Satan is a very real, created being; the author of sin, and the cause of the fall; that he is the open and declared enemy of God and man. Satan is still working in the world to destroy the souls of men, deceive nations, blind the minds of unbelievers, and seek to frustrate the purposes of God. He was defeated at the cross. He and all his angels will incur God’s wrath and eternally perish in the Lake of Fire.
Is. 14:12-17, Gen. 3:1-6, Job 1:9,10, Rev.20:7-10, Matt. 25:41

We believe in the Church, the Body of Christ, whose mission it is to preach the Gospel to all the world. We believe the universal church is made up of all born again believers of this present age. We believe the local church is a group of professing believers who meet regularly for biblical teaching and worship, are led by biblically qualified leaders, are mutually building up one another so that they can reach the lost for Christ (Great Commission).
Mt. 18:15-17, I Tim. 3:1-15, I Cor. 12:28, Eph. 1:22,23, Eph. 5:23-32

We believe that the ordinances of the Church, given by our Lord are baptism (by immersion following conversion) and the Lord’s Table (Communion).
Mt. 28:19,20, Acts 8:36-39, Rom. 6:3-5, I Cor. 11:23-32
